Winter Warmth

from $225.00

This little painting was created for a beer label for a friend’s brewery. The beer is called Black Birch Imperial Stout from Elder Piper Brewery in Petoskey, MI. It has notes of velvety cocoa and roasted coconut and is made for sharing during the festive season. I wanted my painting to reflect the layers, warmth, and care that went into this stout while incorporating festive motifs I've used in my work for years to represent the winter season.

I aimed to capture a dark, cozy feeling using a palette of midnight, burnt, and cocoa tones, contrasted with creamy caramel and toffee hues. The goal was to evoke the hearty warmth of winter activities like cooking and gathering with friends, while ensuring the label stands out on the bottle. I also included elements that evoke the festive season and winter, such as dark green to represent the evergreens that decorate our homes and tables.

This piece is currently on display at Elder Piper in Petoskey, MI through the New Year and will be available after that.

The beer with the festive label is available for purchase at Elder Piper in Petoskey, MI.
